Planning Policy & Infrastructure Guidance

OneShoreline provides cities and agencies in San Mateo County with practical, voluntary tools to plan for sea level rise, flooding, and groundwater rise.

The Planning Policy Guidance offers template language for general plans, zoning ordinances, and development standards to ensure new private development is built with future climate conditions in mind.

The Public Infrastructure Guidance extends this work to publicly owned assets (roads, stormwater systems, and wastewater and water recycling facilities), helping agencies shift from reactive repairs to proactive, climate change-informed capital planning.
