Data collection and alternative development including:

• LiDAR flyover to update the project area’s topography and bathymetry data;
• Reports summarizing the Project’s environmental constraints (e.g. biological resources and hazardous materials), coastal flood hazards, and inland flood hazards; completed a corrosion study.
• Series of project alternatives identified and meetings conducted with shoreline developers, subject matter experts, and environmental regulatory staff to facilitate early input.

Conceptual Alternatives Feasibility Analysis completed to analyze first set of project alternatives.

California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process initiated by releasing a Notice of Preparation (NOP) for an EIR. The NOP provided an overview of the scope and nature of the project and invited comments from stakeholders through November 30, 2023.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Interagency Meeting

Engagement consultant hired. Executed new task order to complete the analyses required to identify the Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) before beginning the EIR.
